About the International Basketball League:

The International Basketball League is a new professional basketball league. The IBL allows only one timeout per quarter and speeds up time between plays with immediate inbounds. The absence of dead time leads to a faster and more entertaining game.

The IBL's inaugural season started in April of 2005. The first year has been completed, 155 games have been played- the IBL scoring average is 126.9 points per game.

An IBL team is based on an affordable and entertaining product for the fan. League commissioner Mikal Duilio says the IBL is old school, back to the basics basketball where skill and athleticism matter. "The IBL eliminates the unnatural interruptions of timeouts and various game delays by limiting timeouts and by putting the ball into play as quickly as possible. The IBL brings an athletic flow back to the game of basketball; players shoot better, jump higher and teams score more points."
